description

XCMM2-18 Hydraulic Roof Bolting Drill Rig for Coal Mines

The XCMM2-18 Hydraulic Roof Bolting Drill Rig is a specialized roadway support machine designed for use in conjunction with a roadheader unit to carry out rapid and balanced support operations, enhancing overall mechanization in underground coal mining. It is suitable for support work in coal and semi-coal rock roadways, and is capable of simultaneous roof and rib bolting, as well as borehole drilling within the coal seam for blasting or geological detection (such as water and gas exploration).

This equipment features a compact structure and small physical footprint, making it ideal for constrained environments. Powered by an electric-hydraulic system, it offers high energy efficiency and intrinsic safety. The machine’s crawler-type undercarriage, driven by original imported Doosan hydraulic motors from Korea, allows it to operate effectively in wet and water-logged tunnels.

It is particularly well-suited for support tasks in coal roadways, semi-coal roadways, and inclined tunnels with gradients less than ±15°.

Performance Features
  • Compact and Agile Design
The rig has a small overall size and compact structure, ensuring flexible movement and ease of operation even in tight working spaces.

  • Integrated Operator Platform and Drill Arm
The operator platform is integrated with the drill arm, allowing the operator to move in sync with the arm. The operator can directly reach drilling points for placing resin cartridges, anchor plates, and other consumables, ensuring efficient and ergonomic operation.

  • Parallel Lifting Function
The platform remains parallel during vertical movement, allowing the operator to maintain a level working position. This ensures accurate, fast positioning and simple, safe operation.

  • Remote-Control Operation
The rig supports remote control for walking and support operations. Operators can choose the safest and most effective location to control the machine, greatly improving personnel safety.

  • Large-Stroke Telescopic Arms
The rig features long-travel telescopic arms to compensate for displacements caused by arm movement across different sections of the roadway, allowing for expanded working range and double-row bolt installation.

  • Foldable Operator Platform
The foldable design of the operator platform facilitates coordination with the roadheader during support operations. The platform is side-mounted near the rib, offering better accessibility for rib bolting while still meeting roof bolting requirements. This resolves the issue of operators being positioned too far from the rib in traditional dual-arm center-mounted designs.

  • Dual Drill Arms with Full Flexibility
Two drill arms with forward/backward tilting, vertical and horizontal extension, and telescopic capabilities. Both arms can operate simultaneously or independently, handling roof and rib bolting without interference. The design also supports different roadway heights and allows for forward probing functions.

  • Integrated Mesh Hanging System
The rig includes support for auxiliary mesh installation, reducing labor intensity and improving worker safety.

  • Retractable Crawler System
The track undercarriage features self-retracting functionality. During normal travel, the width extends to 1200 mm, and it retracts to 800 mm—matching the machine body—for easier maneuverability and vehicle passing.

  • High-Pressure Power Outlets for Cable Tensioning
Each drill arm includes a hydraulic power outlet (>40 MPa), enabling connection to integrated cable bolt tensioning systems for efficient anchorage tensioning operations.

  • Front Push Plate and Rear Support Legs
Equipped with front push plate and rear stabilizing legs for clearing loose coal and ensuring operational stability during drilling.

  • Hydraulic Rod Clamp
Features a hydraulic clamping mechanism to mechanically remove drill rods, eliminating the labor-intensive and time-consuming manual process.
